Good morning everyone!

Weasel, lmbo! I nearly fell off my chair when I read your "tool" reply!

Ruby, I'm glad you got some extra sleep!

So I bought a kuerig yesterday and had the 1st good cup of decaf coffee in the past 7mos! I quit drinking caffeine last Aug., when I quit my DOC's. Idk why I waited so long? It's sure great to be drinking coffee again!

I hope everyone had a great wk. this wk!

Good morning everyone! I'm flying out of town today to spend Easter with family. In my drinking days, I always got to the airport early before a flight so I could hit the airport bar first. So, needless to say, airport bars have been a trigger for me. And when I flew a couple of months ago, the couple sitting next to me drank the entire flight. Hoping that doesn't happen today! Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Morning all. Not sleeping great here, another night of restless tossing with intermittent periods of sleep. Lower back pain seems to wake me periodically. Where the hell did that come from? Never had that problem before. But alas....enjoying my coffee.

Plan to hit a 5:30 meeting which I call "my anxiety support group" to my son since he does not know about my drinking, nor do I want him to at this point.

Should finish taking down the Xmas tree today. Ornaments and lights are all that's left. I live life by my own time frames.

Checking in this morning. Slept in a bit this morning, which I needed. Going to hit some aerobics classes that I am not usually able to hit since I am usually in class. However, due to it being good Friday, no classes. Still have plenty of stuff to do after the aerobics classes, but I want to have a little fun.

No plans for easter other than making food. My MIL wanted us to come up for Easter, but it's usually an 8 hour drive one way for us to get there, which is just too much since I have a lot of stuff to do and I also don't want to be around alcohol.

In terms of going to different stores, I remember doing that too. Between that and the bottles clanking with the recycling, those are two things I don't have to deal with any more.

BigS-that parade just looks a bit creepy, but very interesting.

Ruby-I love night court. Was rather stunned to hear about some of those stories. 256 times?!! Was the guy sent to rehab by the court system?

Lbrain-what? No camping in crimea?

Weasel-I agree with growing an herb garden. We're going to grow some thyme since I am tired of having to buy the fresh stuff at the grocery store. Although I kept on giggling every time I heard herb garden since some people think of growing other things.

Bmac-I once kept up my Christmas tree until May since it made me feel happy having it up.

Queens Of The Stone Age

Welp Eclipse Fans ~

It's a Showing Of The Big Ole Moon in less than 24 hours. And, no, I don't mean me wandering outside - under-dressed - to get the morning Newspaper! See NA Eclipse Show Times here:

04 April Saturday Morning Lunar Eclipse Times

Yah, I get a chuckle out of Bourdain when he's hungover enough to have to wear Sunglasses on his Show. I really do like his writing. Wry stuff. He's not in a space I want to occupy anymore, so all the Drinking doesn't faze me. I'm on the exterior, Voyeuristic side of the Zoo Cage Bars; content to watch the goings-on inside the Enclosure du Alcohol.

In one Episode, Bourdain ventured down to the CA Desert - The Turf Of My Youf - to hang with some Musician types: 'Queens Of The Stone Age'. Bourdain is a Band Fan, and showed some interesting aspects of how 'Desert Rats', as we used to call the Old Timers there, live. Eric Burdon of 'The Animals' lives in this area, as do plenty of Artistes and assorted Wackos.

My Grandpa used to hang with this Desert Wackadoo George Van Tassel; a former Pilot who encountered UFOs while Flying. I didn't make it into the 'Integratron' Dome linked below during one trip out to see Dad, but hope to some day. George lived his interesting existence around 'Giant Rock'. Hangin' in the Desert heat and low humidity with good ole George helped my Grandpa's Arthritis.

The Magnitude 7.3 Earthquake in 1992 remo'ed the Road to Landers CA a bit. Shake & Bake. See below...

Hope you have a better night tonight Bmac

Ruby yeah 3 mile island would be quite a jog from my house. 3 Mills Island is named after three powerful tidal powered mills that have been there for centuries. They were used to supply grain for London's gin craze

I've just met some friends in a place called Dead Dog Basin, it's beside the Grand Union Canal. In June we are going to the Le Mans 24 hours which will be a test for my sobriety. It will be my first sober one for sure

mesa, the integration was on my list of places... it seems to have been turned into a money making deal for the comfortable shoe bead wearing types

maybe you can construct a geodesic structure at you place and invite us all out for a weekend of OM. I bet a theremin would be just totally awesome at 'the integration'.

In other news, while I was waiting for the machine to warm up at wally world I saw this bike on display. Della, it had your name all over it. Yes, that basket on front is made out of steel.

Such interesting stuff going on here. Weas, I wanted to say I hope your visit with Tommy goes well. I googled picc lines and they can be used for extended antibiotics and nutrition too. Hopefully he is on the mend.

BigS, thank you for the photograph. Very striking. Hope you get headache relief soon. I had one the other day but it was from not eating. I'm learning.

MM, I'd love to see the CA desert. I did once when I was nine so it's been a while.

Saoutchik I've heard of dead dog island. Now I'm going to have to Google that.

The fun part of hearing what you all have to say is I get to travel to places I've not seen. And having internet on my phone I can learn about it.

Kzaug, good for you with the decaf. That's a great thing!

Awesome bike, Brain! That's great!

Lovesunrises, have a great trip. There was an article about waiting in airports and avoiding the bars. The woman suggested walking around instead. I always keep in mind that alcohol will dehydrate me and so will a flight. Maybe Drink a lot of water.

BMac, I have a small vaporizer next to my bed. It helps keep things moist but also emits a low, not unpleasant, humming sound which helps with my sleep. Maybe something like that would help.

Mec ~

Chez kewl on you having a Theremin! This former Ham Radio Geek has some Schematics to build one. Part of the 'show' aspect would be to build it into an Console Radio Chassis, such that you could see the glowing Vacuum Tubes.

Tnx for the Vid Link above! There's sho a lot more to Theremins than the lick in The Beach Boys' 'Good Vibrations', or Sci Fi Movie Effects. Russian Inventor Leon Theremin is shown on Archival Footage on You Tube; linked on the right side of this Webpage...

'Over The Rainbow' ~ Theremin

Fellow and Wannabe Desert Rats can get a wonderful dose of All Things Desert in this Film about Gram Parson's final wishes. This Vet of The Byrds and The Flying Burrito Brothers ODed on Morphine and Alcohol in a Joshua Tree Motel at age 26. However, the Movie is wryly funny, and skips all that. Highly recommended!

'Grand Theft Parsons' ~ imdb.com

Thanks saoutchik! I stand corrected. A grim name either way. While checking it out I ran across an interesting blog for ideas, London unveiled. Interesting things to do and see.

I'll be so happy to be done for the day. I need to go shopping for Easter basket candy and stuff. It's also nice now but weather is supposed to turn with snow and rain?!
