New Job...Finally...

I finally landed a new job, almost a year after I got laid off. I'm not sure if that will mean 100% sobriety, but it will certainly mean a healthier lifestyle. I can't wait to start work!

Congratulations.

I wonder about your statement "I'm not sure if that will mean 100% sobriety"....

Who do you suppose is doing the talking there?

Good luck in your new gig - I hope you will bolster your own resolve so that you don't find yourself questioning your chances of sobriety.

Congrats on the new job.

There's no reason it can't mean 100 % sobriety Philly - if you want it

Thanks. I'm taking it day by day. Right now my job is my #1 priority. After a year of being jobless, it has to be. I wish a blood test could tell me if I'm an alcoholic or if I've just been really bored for the last year. I'm not shopping for excuses, I just want to find my place in life where I'm happy most of the time. The truth is, I probably can't moderate my drinking and I'm like most people on this forum. If I'm wrong, great. Either way, work is purpose and a reason to go to bed sober. I'm okay fixating on that for a while.

If your job is the top priority then so should sobriety be! I do my job 1000% better now that I'm sober...and I did it pretty good before. Don't let booze interfere with your new job.

[rant/] Congrats on the new job!

Thanks. Having a schedule helps immensely. Tomorrow I'm going to work, then the gym, then going to a coffee shop to study. By then I'll be beat and ready to go to bed to start it all over the next day.

Congrats Philly!!!

I found I had to make sobriety my #1 priority and everything else seemed to become more manageable. No matter what that was.

Congrats on the new job I think it could help with the sobriety, I just started a new job also two week ago but drunk/took drugs the first week then realised **** I want this job and to show what I can do and am now six days clean

Keep up the good work and focus on your job and not your addiction
