Struggling

IM really really struggling. I have been drinking wine every night and I am sick of it. I threw out what was left in the house. That's a start. Now I need to avoid the grocery store and get a couple days in me. I'm scared to death because my kids are going with their dad for 4 nights and I will be home alone. Please pray for me. Please.

You don't have to do this alone. Check around for local AA meetings. You can hang out with sober people for those four days your kids are gone. If you say you need to be kept busy, I'm sure they will find a way. Us alcoholics are pretty resourceful.

When you pray move your feet.
- African Proverb

There's a western equivalent that goes God helps those who help themselves.

You will feel like drinking when you are home alone. What will you do instead? Plan now!

You can do this!

hello ontherigtpath ,

SR is here for you , thats a good start …

It's a bit scary and daunting to see sobriety spread before you like an open road , but we all only ever get there one step at a time as we go along …. you only ever have to get through today

Like Dee says do you have other support ?

Bestwishes, m

That time alone in the house with no kids around was really tough for me. I made plans to be out of the house to keep busy. I attended AA meetings. I met friends for lunch or coffee. I shopped at thrift stores for treasures without having to listen to my kids complaining.

Stick close here. What Non said, plan plan plan.

I am always alone, live alone - so "alone" better not trigger me.

Four days of alone means you can go to AA, sleep, eat what you want, watch adult TV, sleep some more, take walks, do some housecleaning, come here to SR, call a sober friend, etc.

Four days will get you past the hard part of withdrawal. Good thinking, doing it now. You can sleep 12 hours if you want. Drinking will poison whatever life you think you can lead with the kids. You all deserve better.

You've got this.

Can relate ontherightpath. My husband is currently out of town. I have been making sure to spend time here and have been spoiling myself with special sparkling waters to keep myself going. Sending prayers your way.
