new here!
This is my first post. I need to change my life and stop drinking. My husband has been in recovery since 1999. I stopped for awhile but now I am out of control. I plan on going to a meeting after work. Tried so many times to stop but always get back on this crazy roller coaster rode. I want this time to be different. I'm terrified of failing again. My husband and family are so disgusted with me for always going back and letting them down. I'm so ashamed. Thanks for listening.

Hi and welcome.
You are probably aware of the benefits of sobriety, it’s the approach that is difficult at times but quite simple.
The old timers used to say “we don’t drink even if our A$$ falls off.
I needed to WANT to stop drinking and stop the wishy washy attempts. Also needed to try to stop thinking about drinking and think about non stressful thoughts.
A lot of meetings helped me hear things I needed to hear, even to this day many years later.
BE WELL

There are many resources available to
help with addiction. Learning and educating
ourselves about it will help us remain sober
or clean each day we don't reach for poison
or something to numb our emotional or
physical pain.
I like many use the AA recovery method
for our recovery program. Many of us have
remained with this program because it
has worked for us. That's not to say other
recovery programs done work, because
they do offer help for those who want it.
I learned about my addiction 24 yrs ago
and was taught to remain sober using the
AA 12 Steps and Principle as a guideline
to help me remain sober for the past 24 yrs.
My journey in recovery has taught me
how to live life on lifes terms and avoid
situations that would and could keep
me sick in my addiction. It has given me
my life back and has taught me how to
be healthy, happy and honest in all my
affairs.
Today I can enjoy the gifts of the Promises
granted to us when we live in recovery .
Listen, Learn, Absorb and Apply all you
can about your addiction and begin living
a blessed life for yrs. to come.

Well done for reaching out. Hope we can share our experiences with you in a positive way.
Doubly well done for planning on a meeting as face to face support is of enormous value. Do let us know how you get on with that.
