8 Hours In Court Today

Yep, mine was the last case to be called. It's the third time my ex-partner didn't show up and I'm 5 months now waiting to get a hearing.

The judge decided to excuse himself from the case as he knows all the families involved. Wow man, he has been presiding over it for years already. And some other ones.

I don't know what else to say, my kids xmas presents are still here beside me. What is going on? This is my support group so thought I'd update. Man I'm glad I put some new music on my phone.

Very discouraging, Stratman.

What does your ex have to gain by not showing up?

That is very frustrating that the judge excused himself since he knows all involved. Will they set up another trial for you really soon given this circumstance? I hope you're able to see your kids soon.

Wow... Seems like a good attorney would be able to take advantage of the no-show...

Keep at it. You have to be relentless in these things. Patient, strong and relentless.

I hear Ya. Two o the last five years were a court battle for me, and at least twice a year we are back there again. My ex is..... Challenging.

I know that I am fortunate... Many men I aware of have much harder fights on their hands. The system is biased against us and even in the best circumstances we often face an uphill battle. I know how wearing and draining and discouraging and scary it can be.

One foot in front of the other....

I dunno man feeling pretty hopeless right now. Everything I try to do is made difficult.

Reaching out for help has caused me more problems than anything. I come from a dysfunctional and abusive background.

Yeah I have a solicitor, and true she should have objected.

when you're goin through hell..... keep on going.

Faith, perseverence, doing the next right thing, and carrying on.... that's what will honor your spirit and your children in the long run.

You can do this.

Hi Strat,

Those three no shows do count in your favour. One of the factors in court decisions is costs. The legal system hates a "no show" or money spent without a result which is what has happened here.

Slow as it is - keep on keeping on

Your doing great Stratman

That's so unfair Stratman. I liked FreeOwl's post too - so true.
