Doctors appointment

This is just my personal story. It is a good idea to see your doctor if you have any questions or problems.

Last time I to the doctor and had my blood work done was in November. I had a few borderline problems, nothing I had to take medication for but just a watch and see approach. I went back to the doctor today to see how I was doing. She wants to run my blood work again in a few months. But....

My blood pressure 13 years ago was always around 120/75 and my heart rate was always high because I would get so anxious. In November my blood pressure was 135/85 and heart rate 114... Still anxiety.. Maybe alcohol, who knows...

Today blood pressure 111/63 and heart rate 90..:c029: And I was still anxious...lol. Thats with just 15 days of sobriety!!! Has anyone else had this happen?

I have heard many people say that their blood pressure improved when they stopped drinking. I'm glad you're doing well.

That's a pretty high resting heart rate. I am the same. Even thinking about not drinking makes my heart race. I went 2014 sober and OMG. By the end of the year I had the the lowest pulse and lowest BP ever. Anxiety is a huge thing with me. I use alcohol to make it go away but it is not a solution. Hope you do well Mystary.

The blood pressure is good, the heart rate seems a little high. In my experience, cardiovascular exercise over a period of time can drop that resting heart rate 20 points. Plus you might drop a few pounds! It's best to check with your doctor before you start however.

Echoing Anna, give it time. You are doing well and the follow- up results may be fine if you keep at it. Best to you.

I learn to use my recovery program to
help me remain sober. Then use my doctors
or physicians for any medical problems
always reminding them im in recovery,
being honest with them so that nothing
is administered to me that is narcotic or
habit forming.

Using each properly should help us
stay on course as we continue on
our recovery journey in life. :)

Heart rate of 90 is high for me because at home it stays between 68-76 at rest. It goes up so high because I get so anxious at the doctors. It has always been this way since 2002. My doctor know this. But I was so happy about the blood pressure drop :) It has been slowly creeping up through out the years.
