So I start the new job today. It's entry level but an area I want to work in with room to advance and grow. Life is too precious wasting time on things we don't want to do and alcohol stops us doing things we want to do really. So I am 3 and a half weeks sober and it is getting easier. Th e thought of putting my life together is exciting and daunting at the same time. No doubt random cravings and stressors/challenges will come along but I am ready and determined to ride them out. Just wanted to post this update to help anyone in the early stages and feel they are struggling. It does get better. Have a great day everyone. Stay classy.

Just saw this thread for the first time, Tom. Congrats on the job and on your sobriety; what a double winner! This certainly enhances your opportunity to experience a new beginning in your sobriety. Good luck and enjoy it!
