So I got the job. Full time contract. 2 weeks and 3 days sober. This feels like a new start for me. Thanks for the encouragement. Feeling happy. I won't celebrate. The AV has been going overtime but a trip to the gym will shut it up
12 days sober and feeling many benefits. Going for a job interview today and I have zero confidence. People think I am self assured and a little quirky but inside i am terrified of failing, it cripples me. Maybe that's one of the reasons I drank a lot. I guess staying sober and rebuilding my life will give me more confidence. I just want to stay under the duvet today.
It will help you prepare, be professional, be sharp etc but remember once you get in there you'll begin to relax.
That's fantastic!!!!!!!!! Very happy for you! I also got a new job in early recovery and it's been a great fresh start.
You should definitely celebrate! Not with alcohol, of course, but some other special treat. We celebrate with a nice dinner and soda ice cream floats in my house now.

Confidence is the absence of insecurity. Or whatever feelings you have that get in your way. The moment you need to pump yourself up, you're going in the wrong direction.
Eliminate the feelings that get in your way and you'll be fine. Confidence will be something you might laugh at. Because you got to the better point. Where it doesn't matter anymore. Where are you just you.
Throw out the feelings that get in the way of you being "confident". Think to yourself "I am confident" and then throw out all the feelings that contradict it. Then see how you look at confidence...
