Hooray

Today marks 83 days sober. I owe a great deal of thanks to this forum. I know I don't communicate much around here, but I do read posts every day, usually several times a day. I mentioned the horrendousness (it's a word now) of my job in earlier posts of mine, but I'm pleased and relieved to announce I start a new job on Monday. Starting new things is sometimes scary and I acknowledge my anxieties, but it's something I need to do for my health (both physical and mental), so I'm looking forward to that change. I also mentioned the end of a relationship, which I'm doing just fine with. I decided to treat myself to a little (or not so little) gift as a reminder of how much progress I've made since January. I just ordered a new desk online! No more gifts for a little while as this one cost a pretty penny (the amount of money I've saved by going sober is remarkable), but I think it'll be worth it.

That's all, really. Just wanted to post a short update. Thanks for reading!

Congrats to you. Timing is everything - looks like you've earned some good karma over 83 days.

I also had a relationship end - or so I think: my BF of two years just quit calling which is a pretty obvious sign, right? I'd have been a mess if I were still drinking. So good timing for me, too.

Scrappy, congratulations on your recovery. Good work!

I really like that you've taken steps to make changes in your life. You needed to change jobs and you did that. And, treating yourself is a good idea, too.
