Drunk dad cancels heart op

Daughters dad should have gone in for heart surgery today and is nt going because he has nt stopped drinking. Can she get someone to force him in to recovery as he will die soon if he does nt have the operation

I'm so sorry to tell you but no, it will not work unless he wants to quit.

I don't know if he can be "forced" into going to rehab, but I know for a fact that it will not work until he is ready.

Has she spoke. To him about it? Does he know this is a matter of life or death?

Probably not. I understand it is a sad thing for your daughter to witness. Maybe he will get real sick and end up in the hospital and then make the right decision ?

No one can force an adult to stop drinking. It's something that requires a lot of motivation. I'm very sorry that your daughter is going through this.

she spoke to him and he says sorry but then swears and gets aggressive Thank you for the reply though
