Not sure where to go from here...
Hello. I have been sober for 5 days. It was sort of easier because we had just gone out of town. But now that I'm back in my own house, it's hard to break everyday habits.
Welcome!
Yes, it is hard to break every day habits, but doing so is a great help in early recovery. What is the time of the day when you normally want to drink? For me, it was right after supper, early evening. So, I made myself get out of the house and walk. I also avoided the wine/beer aisle at the grocery store. The small changes can really help.
Congratulations on 5 days sober!

Welcome to SR, Joyseek; congratulations on 5 sober days.
Breaking the 'routine' of drinking can be very helpful. Even a simple diversion (take a walk before you start dinner, take a warm bath after dinner, meditate for a few peaceful minutes, practice breathing techniques instead of drinking) can be helpful. Reacquainting yourself with an old hobby or learning a new hobby could get you out of the house and 'outside' of old patterns.
Glad you found SR.
