Is there a forum for methodology discussion? Someone posted something regarding AA in the secular forum and was redirected to the newcomers' forum. But the newcomers' forum doesn't allow debate. Is there a safe place on here to discuss the pros and cons of various recovery methods?

Such "discussions" become heated debates, which is why they are discouraged. You can discuss the pros and cons of secular recovery in that forum, the pros and cons of AA on that forum, but not the pros and cons between them anywhere.

You can discuss methodology in the alcoholism or substance abuse forums or in What is Recovery forum.If it's related to an article the News forum would be ok too :)

If it's a recent thread where I directed them. you're misremembering :)

The secular forum is for the discussion of secular methods. The 12 step secular forum is for the discussion of AA/NA from a secular standpoint.

We set things up that way so that people can discuss their way of recovery without threads being routinely closed cos other people arc up etc.

Noones getting gagged :)
