A fairly shy hello
Hi Phil,
You'll find some great support here. I'm also living abroad and being sober here has really opened up some great opportunities. I'm sure your weekends will be much more fun traveling and seeing new things as opposed to sitting in your local bar.
That said, it seems like you might be in a bit deeper trouble than your tone suggests. If you've already been warned, you likely aren't going to get another chance. Being jobless and having no income while living abroad can get dicey pretty quick. Flying home with your tail between your legs is indeed a terrible feeling. So what are you going to do to stay off the booze this time? Got a plan of any kind? Welcome again and hope all is well tonight!

Thanks so much everyone, it's really nice to speak to such understanding people! I'm on day 2 of not drinking now, and have sat twice with my friends while they drank and I didn't. Which was... extremely hard, I felt like I couldn't concentrate on anything. I'm sure I came across as really boring too... But still, a start is a start!
