Wink Sobriety is Sanity

Hello everyone. I am newly sober, and I am already grateful and enjoying my life for once. I have finally made the commitment to recovery and the sober lifestyle. Started taking antabuse a few weeks ago, and really glad I did. One of the few smart decisions I ever made, taking away the option to drink. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel a pill is a miracle cure. I take it to support my sobriety and proceed to work the program. The brunt of the work is up to me, but I feel more capable now. Finally have a sponsor I work very well with. Feel like I am getting somewhere. If anyone has any tips for early sobriety, I would much appreciate your feedback. Wish you all another 24!

I'm toying with the notion of asking my doctor for Antabuse myself. I have a real roller coaster history of quitting and relapsing and my downfall has often been that wtf moment when a huge urge has suddenly swamped me. Be interested to hear more.

Welcome.
TIPS? I just repeat the same old same old. These have worked since AA came to be almost 80 years ago. They work if we work them.
I needed to get honest with myself about my drinking and ACCEPT the fact I cannot drink alcohol in safety one day at a time in a row. I also needed to work on and change the person I was when I was drinking, like it or not. I postponed picking up the first drink by saying I’ll drink tomorrow any day I felt the urge and I needed to REMEMBER WHEN I felt so miserable while drinking.
KEEP COMING!
That’s part of my suggestions, I’m sure others have some also.

BE WELL
