Paying my dues
Far from being "hey here's my life story please feel sorry for me"...
I was a singer for a "big" (so they say) rock band in the early 80s.
The key word is...I WAS. The 80s have long gone and it has taken me this long to accept this.
Simply put, I did too much drugs and too much drink for almost 20 years. Now I am here to try not to die.

Its nice having you with us.
Does your doctor know you are trying not 'to die?'
I'm sure thats what he/she would want you to do but would any check ups or help in that department help?

Welcome AnonRock! I drank for 30 yrs., I hear you. This is a great place for support & encouragement as you heal & get yourself well. We're glad you found us.

I can't quite grasp that the 80's were a few decades ago (denial) but I'm really glad you have found us! Welcome to a really big family, full of people who get what you are going through and who care.

Welcome to SR, Anon!! A lot of nice and understanding people here. You don't have to be alone, cause you aren't. The 80's I remember those days, I remember that spray so much hair spray in my hair I though I had wings... HAHAHA!! Good times, also bad times... The past is the past and we can change just give it time. Hope to see you around.

Welcome anon. I'm sure it has taken a long time for many of us to realize the extent of our drinking and drug problems. In that regard, you're not alone. Looking back, I should have seen my problem years before I finally admitted I had one. But better late than never.
