Saying hello and thanks
Hi,
I am a sober Alcoholic.
41 years old. Probably have much the same story as anyone else here.
recently while watching (my favourite tv show) Hill Street Blues, a particular (end) scene hit me very hard.
I uploaded the scene to youtube and wrote a small piece in the comment below it.
(this isn't spam to have you watch my video- its just a very poignant scene)
After seeing the scene I watched it repeatedly, realising that at this stage of my life i didn't have anyone who understood what I was/am going through.
My Father is also an Alcoholic (also sober) and he helped me come clean, he had done it a few years earlier himself.
He found me at my worst, travelled 4000kms+ to get me out of it, and then saw me through for the years it took to really get my head around sobriety.
I REALLY owe him my life.
I will type more about my story later, I guess I need to get it off my chest sometimes, as my current situation I don't have anyone near me who gets it.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you watch the video and read my comment below it.
All the best,
Harry (Aka Ari)
Edit: PS. seems I cant post links yet, I will when I am able to.
