Inspirational Poem
Hi everyone!
I joined SR last wk.
On day 16 of suboxine withdrawals ( feeling like crap physically today, but much better mentally! )
6mos clean from heroin, methadone & klonopins! Hoot hoot!
Just found out my hubby relapsed on heroin again! Uuhhgg!
Long before I ever even decided to become clean, my motto was "Whether you think you can or you think you can't...Your right!" Being in such a drug induced haze, I forgot who said this! Imagine that! Lol! It was Henry Ford.
While looking this up this morn, I came across this poem by Walter D. Wintle ( early 20th century poet. Hope you like it! )
If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't
If you like to win, but don't you think can
It is almost certain you won't
If you think you'll loose, you've lost
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in a state of mind
If you think you are outclassed, you are
You've got to think high to rise
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!
Just a thought...I wonder if Henry Ford ever read this poem?
