Step daughter in jail we are raising her 3 kids
Hi
I't been 8 years but my step daughter is now behind bars. This is the first time she has been sober in 8 years. She has 4 kids. We have custody of 3 of them her ex husband has her oldest. We sued her for child support then hounded the state attorney to prosecute her for non payment. She received a 5 year sentence. We were notified that she was coming up for parole. We met with the parole board and she was deferred for 15 months.
She is getting some drug treatment while in jail. We hope it works.

Welcome to the forum! There is a lot of great support here. You have a tough job. But I'm sure it's worth it. I know someone who just adopted three grandkids because mom and dad aren't around. It's rough. Good to meet you and see you around.

Welcome to SR, Tom! It's good to have you here, and I'm sorry you have to deal with so much. It's great what you're doing for the kids, and I too hope your step daughter gets the help she needs to make something positive of her life.
