Six months sober
Just to say today marks my sixth month of sobriety. I am picking up my chip tonight and I feel good about the work I have put into staying sober. This is a much better way to live life. I'm learning how to live and I am very grateful for my sobriety. I feel extremely lucky that I have the chance to embrace sobriety.

I've shared this before, but after I went through the worst episode of alcohol in my entire life last year, I had gotten myself into a major mess physically. I got myself out of it and vowed never to get that way again. And I haven't. I am trying to quit weekend drinking, but believe it or not I'm smart enough to put it away before I know I will be into withdrawal symptoms.

I was a binge drinker. I could go weeks without drinking and then the demon came calling. The demon is inside of me and lives on alcohol. As long as I don't put alcohol in my body the demon doesn't have any power.
