8 days and wife sees change already

This was really great to hear from her! I'm in a better mood not hating life, not being pissy all the time. I'm nicer to the kids she said...we all know how they can be (drive you crazy) etc. I'm really trying to make a change in my life on all fronts. I have friends in town this weekend, but not going to hang out. Too soon to be around all the drinking and partying. I have some more friends coming into town at the end of the month as well. Some of whom I haven't seen in over 10 years.

I live in Vegas, so there is always party going somewhere somehow every day. I like living in this city for other reasons...good job, cheap to live etc but that nightlife is one to never be forgotten. I'm just glad that my wife is seeing how hard I'm trying and that I'm very serious in trying to make a change in my life!

Took my wife almost 4 months to tell me she saw a change. I was glad to hear it, even at 4 months!

Congratulations on day 8. Can almost feel your pride coming from your post that your wife has responded positively. Tell her this. When you feel low, her positive reinforcement may make all the difference.

Getright, great work thus far. Triple bonus for doing it in Las Vegas. Many distractions there. I too have been steering clear of my party buddies. I am on day 42. Feels great to be a better husband and father. Wishing you the best.

Isn't it amazing how positive things can get in just a short time of sobriety? That's all the more encouragement to keep going! You rock! 12 days here

Happy wife, happy life. BWWAAAA!!!

All kidding aside: this is what life is all about. Connections with self and others. You sound so proud and happy and I am so glad for you. Embrace your recovery with these positive feelings and it will be easier to quiet your AV.

For sure!...I still have a lot of anxiety built up as I have to go to court at the end of the month for a stupid DUI I got last July, but taking it 1 day at a time.
