I did not see anyone I knew very well, but around 60 days I did find someone I use to know pretty well and glad he was there - me!

You'll be fine and may find one of the best journey's of your life!
Glad you're here with us, we needed a secretary.........

The first time I saw someone I knew he walked up, shook my hand, and said glad you're here. We're all there for the same reason. They've been in your shoes. Like I said before, they are experts at newcomers and know exactly how you feel.

Just walk in and sit down. No one will bite you.

I saw someone I recognised but didn't really'know' just saw her around. That person became my sponser.
I don't think it's awkward at all, you're all there for the same reason. I'd actually like to see someone else I know there!

Seeing someone I know at an AA meeting for the first time is comforting to me.

As the saying goes, you are not alone (in your struggles with alcohol).
