Hoping today will be Day 1!

So I want to quit drinking. Beer is my choice! Lots of it! 12 to 18 a night. Starting at 5:30 I drink 4 beers. Then at 6:30 I hit the gym till about 7:30. Then from 7:30 till 10 is when I do the rest of my drinking.

I want to quit, its in my head all the time, but i cant seem to commit!
Thats the part that sucks. Wanting to quit, but just not happening.

So today I am gonnahive it a try. I work until 5:30 and go to bed at 10.
So I just got to make it 4 1/2 hours till bed time and I will be good.
Wish me Luck!!!

Hi.
That is a good time period to attend AA meetingS to learn 1st hand how to be and stay sober.

Reading a LOT of posts on this site can be helpful IF we apply what we read every day.

BE WELL

if you were drinking a lot nightly, you may want to see your doctor......stopping abruptly can shock the body, even if it's beer......

So what are you going to change up to ensure you meet your commitment?

I planned to quit dozens and dozens of times. But mental plans are the first to crumple when the Addictive Voice starts saying "Drink, you can quit tomorrow."

My sober journey started for real when I took action to get and stay sober. I lived and breathed recovery. I did the work and saw the results. Wishing you the same.
