Que

I am starting to have some very bizarre after affects of alcohol drinking that I have never experienced before. It basically started about a year ago.

I wake up the next morning, heart beating hard, extreme thirst in my mouth, and absolute hunger. The first two I can usually nix with a few water bottles and some ibuprofen. But the extreme hunger...I have no idea what causes it.

No matter how much I eat, it persists the entire day. Not even 2-3000 calories can stop it.

If only happens after a night of heavy drinking (if you can even call it that). I would say about 350-500ML of whiskey. I usually never drink more than that, and barely every to the 500 mark. Usually around 400.

And I only do this once a week, maybe twice, and that's at the most.

This has never happened to me before, but now it is happening every time.

The hunger is so severe almost nothing can stop. I ate half a pizza and I was still starving. I ate the other half...still hungry all day. And stomach pain to go with it.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Welcome to the Forum!!

The body is not invincible and alcohol can damage many parts of the body through prolonged use, so something has to eventually give!!

Might be time to reassess your relationship with alcohol, as it seems to be doing you no favours!!

Welcome to SR, Triax. You seem to have identified the source of the symptoms as alcohol. Seems that your body is sending you a clear message.

I would suggest speaking to your doctor about your drinking and the symptoms you have described.

glad you found SR.

Many of us recognize these symptoms as withdrawal symptoms. They go away all by themselves never to return. Guaranteed.

You gotta give up the drinking though. That's the trick.

It would be a good idea to talk to your dr about your stomach and hunger issues.

I talked to someone today who knows about my problem and they said I may want to ask the doctor about stomach and intestinal ulcers as well, as the alcohol could be aggravating them. I'll go see a doctor soon.

alcohol changes the entire digestive system and messes with the pH....maybe don't drink and these symptoms will go away?

I'm not giving medical advice, but sharing most of my digestive issues went away during periods of long abstinence from alcohol. That being said, see your doctor
