Day One
This evening when I feel like drinking wine I will _________ instead.
Fill in the blank now. I quit far too many times and then hoped the desire to drink would just disappear. When it didn't I was totally reactive. When I started planning in advance I was in a much better position to deal with it.
Best of Luck!

Welcome to the Forum Freedom!!
Support was important for me when my mind in isolation would try to convince me to drink, when my good intentions would fade as evening fell, when that glass of wine sounds like a good idea you may need something to give you a second opinion on things, something to short circuit your own thoughts.
Using SR in the evenings, simply reading it, or reaching out through posting can get you through!!

Hi Freedom. Thank you for reaching out to me. I can't message back until I have 5 posts. We seem to have a lot in common. I'm a complete insomniac and rationalize my drinking to help me sleep. It's not helping me sleep, I'm passing out...and this is not healthy. I agree with finding something healthy to replace the drinking.
