What medication do you take (if any) while sober?
For me I didn't take anything, I went to my Dr, got checked out, loads of tests and went on my Drs advice, I didn't need anything to be safe, cold turkey would be safe, that was the advice, and that's the way forward in my opinion, medical advice from your Dr!!
The reality is withdrawals are not nice, but if the body doesn't need anything to be safe then it's a case of pushing through and bearing with it!!
We drank ourselves over many years into a hole, and it's going to take time to adjust!!

It's like ever since I stopped drinking my meds put me to sleep. It just leads me to believe that maybe I'm overly medicated to compensate for the amount of alcohol (undisclosed to my doctor. Always lied) I was consuming at the same time.

I know just in my experience,'it takes a little time to level out. I'm on Effexor, and I know when I drank while taking it, I got sleepy all the time, but now that I'm not drinking, I just feel level. My only advice would be to give any of your medicine a couple of weeks when youre sober, if it doesn't get better then maybe see about a change. But I would tell your doctor if I were you, about any drinking and how long it's been because it really does, affect how the meds work.
I take Lexapro for depression (which is mild for me) and anxiety. Also have Buspar for anxiety (which has been a problem for years). Take Trazodone as a sleep aid.
I didn't have any of these prescriptions while drinking, so have no idea how alcohol might make them more or less powerful.
