Great news.
How much had you been drinking and for how long? What was your previous liver diagnosis?
I'm day 4 sober now and very worried about my liver. I've been drinking a stupid amount daily for over twelve years. The last 18 months I've drank a bottle of vodka every night.
I'm going to wait a couple of weeks then get it checked.

Hi Crasfd,
Congrats on 4 days sober, excellent work well done mate.
I was diagnosed with some liver damage, enough to warrant my doctor giving me a fright and ordering me to stop drinking. Three months later and whilst my liver is still healing it is back in the normal range...This should be encouraging for you and if you are kind to your liver it has an amazing ability to heal. I took milk thistle as well.
What I would suggest, I know it's not what you want to hear as Im not a fan of doctors either. Id be brave and go see your doctor as soon as you can. Just to make sure your safe in withdrawel. Its up to you but getting a check up bloods etc will give you a really good starting block. "Ok from here it can only get better". They cant force you to do anything you dont want to and are there to help.
Posting will be a great help and I found and find some awesome help here.
Absolutely it gets easier, but you need to weather the storm and get all the toxins out of your system. Your Doc will be stoked your sober. Youve got this Crasfd ;-)

I was told 10 years ago that my blood tests indicated that I had a fatty liver caused by drinking alcohol. He told me that if I didn't stop or reduce my booze intake it could progress to alcoholic hepatitis or even cirrhosis.......... so I did what any self respecting alcoholic would do........and continued to drink in even greater quantities!
I avoided my GP for 10 years so don't know how bad my liver function got (not cirrhotic thankfully) but 2 months after my last drink I had a blood test that showed my liver was fine! Completely healthy.
Booze can screw up your liver but the good news is that if it's not too far gone it can recover, and quite quickly. I totally agree with MrJustin though - if you're concerned, see your doctor, everyone's different but the one thing we do have in common is that not drinking won't do your liver any harm at all!
Congratulations on day 4 mate, the days quickly add up and become weeks......😆
