Checking in tonight. My cold is progressing, but it doesn't seem to be a major cold. Just annoying.

Della-I hope you're feeling better soon. The flu is miserable.

Olive-Did you plant the hughmongous seeds?

BigS-sounds like a very nice weekend. Was very nice of you to try to help the guy that was passed out.

Ruby-I am very tired of snow as well.

Zeppelin by Kids on Xylophones. Killer!

'Kashmir, et al' ~ Louisville Leopard Percussionists

Went to see 'Selma' at a very small Town, cushy, remo'ed Theater. Very moving.

'Kashmir' has a lot of meaning for me.

First, I vaguely recall it was written in something like 'Mixolydian' Scale where the Note Intervals convey that 'Middle Eastern' inference.

Second, I saw Zep play this at the L.A. Forum circa '75; a Concert later put out on DVD. Kinda kewl to remember 'gee, I was there'. Kinda. Remember.

This Concert was the first time I heard Subsonics. On only this repetitive Riff at the end of 'Kashmir', a whole separate set of large Bass Woofers and Amps were kicked in, playing that Riff an Octave or two lower. The effect was amazing. It just shook your Body, and really upset lotsa Folks on a visceral level. Some jumped up and went running for the Exit Doors. Chaos, really. I remember kinda having to cinch down and bear it, because I wanted to get away from this Sound, too. In the nick of time, the Song ended.

Third, the thing I love about this Kid Vid - besides all the sizes of Xylophones and Vibraphones [those with the Brass Tubes hanging down like Lionel Hampton used to play] - is all the lil 'secret' bits that emerge. I didn't see the Girls in the back left playing Keys at first. The 2nd Percussionist is kinda hidden initially. And, so on.

These Kids are playing in Louisville in a ~1 month. Plus, they got the real Zep support that matters! I saw this Vid a few weeks ago, and heard this NPR Story today.

Good evening everyone. BigS, sounds like a great weekend. Though not being adopted by the drunk on the beach.

Della i hope you feel better soon. You too Strat. Maybe we will get some warmth and sun. Bake it out of us.

I'm watching Battle Creek. New mystery show. Did lots of laundry cleaning and cooking. Tomorrow i'm off and have bunches of running around. Emissions check. And renew plates. On both cars. Kia is due this month but no emissions check.

I will check out the forum. If we were all low key and laying around this weekend, i can imagine lots of other people were doing the same and struggling.

I'm off tomorrow. Three day weekend. Yay. I'll be checking on here tomorrow.

Monday, Monday, so good to me....Monday morning, it was all I hoped it would be!!!

Revving my sober engine for a great day of things to do at work.

Sounds like everyone did a good job this weekend. The thread has little ebbs and flows to it when you look across the weekends.

Same bat time... same bat channel this week.

Time changes here in the US next weekend!!! (hhhmmm... topic?) We gain sunshine although the cold wont seem to lift. Maine will get a day out of the 30's this week. *****!

Weasel I would love a day in the thirties. Anything in the twenties would do. How about preparing for seasonal changes as a topic?

Off to get emissions checked in car. Hoping car doesn't overheat.

stressed beyond, just stressed. Reviewing poster board for wife's presentation - there is a neat looking representation of a flu virus. Except there are circles and arrows pointing to words that are not a part of the presentation - no reference to such illustration. It is also in the accompanying handout of figures. And I know one of the students is going to ask a question about it - Murphy's Law. And I also know it's going to be stump the dummy time. Now I have to inform my pal that she has to able to answer questions about said illustrations - learn what the big words mean before you use them...
...when she wakes up a half-hour before she leaves. Students will generally look at cool 'pictures' instead of following text during presentation.

Why am I stressed? Because I was asked to review, "grade" her presentation. All fine and dandy. Just don't give me the finished product for review when there is zero time to make changes to it. One paragraph has a sentence half used twice in the same sentence. About 20 packages are already made up and ready for distribution. They were put together last night in a rush.

Does anyone use power point any more?

I realize I am talking to myself here. Just needed to vent.

Happy Monday, Happy Week - 3 weeks until spring here (official spring).
Going up to 40's by weekend! A heat wave!

Heh heh, LB.

Her problem.

Why not **********? No one needs more paper in their life. No. One.

*Ok, no idea why it edited that out...power point.
