Thankful.
50 days today. Longest I've been sober in 15 years. Heard people say that they are thankful or greatful to be sober and never really understood what that meant. Was reading posts on here today and yesterday and hearing from people who are struggling and remembering where I was not that long ago. For the first time I get what it is to be thankful for my sobriety. So happy to be sober and not back in that hell. I'm finally coming out of the fog of the early days. Which were rough. Life is starting to look a lot less bleak.
Nice of you to lend encouragement to those in very early sobriety. The first weeks can be so difficult. It makes some think the difficulties will never end. It's good for them to hear what things are like at another mile marker.
If I had to guess, I'd say things will also generally get better for you beyond your current expectations.

50 days is wonderful Dave. I used to always give up before I started to feel better. Being here helped me stay strong & be patient. You're right, it does get easier - and will continue to. Congratulations.
