hello. this is my first day to be here. i have taking hydrocodone for about 7 years and have just recently quit cold-turkey. i have been off for 6 days now and it feels like everything i know has fallen apart. it's like i have no feelings any more. my family and friends are being supportive, but they just don't understand. my future husband is so lost and doesn't have the first clue how to handle all this. can anyone talk to me please?

Know this, you are not alone and there is help out there. Have you ever looked into attending a local NA meeting? Others will follow to offer any information that may help you.

Welcome to SR Amimichelle....So glad you are here.

I too was a hydro addict..that and many other drugs for 20 years. I understand the insanity of it..as do so many here. Feel free to post wherever you like. Substance abuse forum and NA baord you will find quite helpful. You can also call NA and have someone talk to you about their program. There is SMART recovery and other treatment options. Stick around..take a look.and please keep posting..we care..and so many of us have been right where you are. W DO recover!

It's hard for others to understand how we feel, which is why SR is such a good place to come for support and understanding. I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time right now and hope that you can hang on. I'm an alcoholic, but I surely do understand the grip of addiction and the loneliness of withdrawl.

thanks to all that replied. it took me a bit to figure out how all this works and how to get my messages. computers aren't really my thing. i only have access to a computer at work mon-fri. but i really do want to chat with all of you. i'm scared and feel so alone in all this. i don't think i even know who i am any more without the pills. plus, i just finished taking shots for endometriosis which shut my hormone system completely down. i feel completely broken. i am going to try to stay busy through the weekend until i can get back here on monday to talk with some of you. am going for out-patient therapy but can't get in until setp. 20th, so i'm going to need all the help i can get. please don't forget about me over the weekend and i'll be back monday morning. thank you so much for your replies again. they have made my day brighter.

We won't forget you my friend. I and many others understand We truly do...the emotiona are so hard to deal with....I also undestand how the hormones can affect all this too.I had a hysterectomy at 26...and it really does make things tough. But there IS hope..I never thought I could make it either..but I did, and so have many others. I look forward to getting to know you and will pray for you over the weekend.
