As many of you know, I am married to an active alcoholic. There is always alcohol here, and my hubby is drunk every night. It does not make me want to drink, if anything it reminds me why I don't. Valentines day came and no card or gift. He said, I did not get you anything, because my shoulder hurts. I got him gifts and card. I replied, when I was out of town, you went to by booze. I realize I am his second love, and that still hurts. He broke his collar bone about a month ago when he passed out in the chair and fell. I am not sure why I am sharing this, except it hurts and I don't want to hold it in. Thanks for listening.

That sucks, I was in work yesterday having a few conversations with some of the women and asking them about today, and some actually said they didn't expect to get anything from their spouses/boyfriends, and I was shocked.

I dunno for me it's like Xmas, you may not be in the spirit but you still make an effort because it's not all about ourselves, it's about the others around you!!

I was terrible to my partner when I was drinking. I am very ashamed of that now that I am sober. Seeing how my behavior affected others helped me make the decision to stop
