New to the Boards

Hi. I'm new to the boards, but not new to the program. I am an alcoholic and an addict. I have been struggling lately, although I have not picked up yet. I needed to reach out a little, so here I am. I am not really ready yet to tell my story, but I wanted didn't want to lurk in the background.

thank you for welcoming me. last night I read and read and read some more...it helped me not pick up. the nights have been rough lately. My DOC was coke, and I havent used that since November 28, 2003. I have stayed away of pot and pills as well since May...I had been pretty comfortable where I was in my recovery...but the urge to drink has been very intense latetly. I don't have any in the house, but I have been obsessively thinking about getting some. Once my exhusband picks up my kids for the weekend, I am going to get to a meeting today. Until then, I intend to read some posts and read my NA books. One of the things I have learned in my program is to ask for help..that has been a very tough lesson for me...but I know if I don't, my disease will kill me.

I am new to the boards. My dh has been in recovery since 9/27/03. We have two kids and we are trying to get use to each other all over again. It is hard, but we are trying.
