If your doctor has prescribed it you will certainly find out pretty soon if it works or not!

We can't offer medical advice here, but the anecdotal stories do suggest that there isn't a drug that works for everyone - we all react differently.

Celexa is a SSRI antidepressant and isn't used for cravings (there are other meds). You google information, but I recommend directing your questions to your doctor.

Its an anti depressant and anti anxiety and some people say it helps with alcohol cravings so... I'd say your Dr is about right on track as they usually are lol. But it is always good to do your own research but like I said before Dr Google didnt go to med school. Its very possible that your DR thinks that your drinking could be related to your anxiety and or depression and heck it usually is right?

Doctors know what's best.

At the end of the day make sure you combine your medication with solid ongoing sobriety work.

I can tell you one thing about how it works: it doesn't work if you drink. Drinking actually causes anxiety and cravings, and alcohol just flushes the medication out of your body.
