Ugh and Yay!

Ok after trying to kick my wine habit for years, I have finally conceded that I am an alcoholic and need help. That's the Ugh, the Yay is that I finally decided to do something about it..day 1...joined SR and going to AA meeting tonight....no more, I'm taking control and taking my life back!! Damn you Pinot Noir, Sauvignon and so on......

Welcome, onmyway. Chardonnay was my poison; I can barely stand the sight of it now.

Thank you all! It's great to have friends from all over the world supporting me on this scary journey. But it's the journey I must take so I can have a better life. and to think I thought life is better with wine. Not for me!! I really really really want to not drink alcohol ever again. So any tips or tricks you can share I would love to hear them. For example, favorite new drink to have to replace the old wine habit.

Sparkling water and club soda are great substitutes for me. Sparkling cider is festive.

Welcome. I too am starting a sober life today.

Something that comes to me at the moment is the quote from Dory, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming". Lol I love that movie.

Yes Teebee! Damn Merlot too. I figure I drank enough wine to last a lifetime...time to have the rest of my life "wine" free.

Your making a good choice. Getting sober and A.A. is the single most important thing in my life today, without my sobriety I will lose everything including life itself. I hope to hear back on how the meeting went. I will let you know how it works.
