40 days
40 days
Just wanted to share my little mini milestone with everyone. I've struggled really hard to get back to sobriety but as some of you may know my first child was born just over two weeks ago which has given me a whole new perspective and finally a reason to really fight the addiction on those tough days.
I dont want to burden my son with my problems and thats the reason this time is different. I no longer feel like any craving could be strong enough to risk what I have now. Life feels really good......even though im really, really tired.

Wow congrats MM! 40 days is a really big deal and it sounds like you are on the right track!
BTW are you running in your barefeet in that pic? I love running! I am getting ready to do my first 1/2 Ironman next month. I am totally excited! The good news is that in sobriety those things become so much more important!

thats awesome man- congrats on your kid AND your sobriety. Being tired even at 40 days is normal man. Hate it to say it but even when I had 8 weeks, I still had days of being tired. Oh and BTW your new kid makes you feel tired lol. I have a 9 month old (and 4 year old) and they dont help your energy levels. Just think about how tired your wife is! You got this. Eat well, get outside and do stuff, and take naps when you can.
Hi everyone, thanks for all the relies....think im having one of those pink cloud times that people talk about but im just going with it.
Saliena - no im not barefoot in the picture but I wear really lightweight shoes, if I wear much cushioning I get injured, sometimes barefoot run nat the track as its really good for posture. The picture is from half marathon pb/pr. Good luck with your half ironman.....i would do one but unfortunately I swim like a brick.

Congratulations on your forty days! That's fantastic. You can be the best dad ever by staying in recovery. Do it for you and your son will be the beneficiary.
Congratulations on the birth of your son. That is wonderful.
