So, I haven't had a drink in over 30 days and it has been a challenge and I do admit spending some time refereeing between the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. Friday night rolls around and this may sound strange but I have two angels, with 8 paws between them...my dogs. They are 8 years old going on 9 and I just don't want them to spend another night of their lives with a drunk mother. I never had kids of my own so they are my kids. As they age, I want to spend every spare minute with them sober and not wreaking havoc on my ritualistic one night a week binge. Of course, the devil on the other shoulder gets a word or two in..."Been a long stressful and you need to have a drink to relax" and so on but so far, my dogs have won and thereby, I have won.
