Let it go! Sober Weekender Thread Feb 6-8
No! No! No! I cannot take one more playing of that dreadfully happy song from Frozen!
Nope, that's not what this weekends kick off thought is about. It's about those that want to stop drinking and those that have stopped to remember to let it go.... A reminder to forgive.
To forgive others. To seek the forgiveness of others. To forgive oneself. The road to each intersects with little distinction between them.
So as we all kick it up soberly this weekend, keep that thought in the back of your mind and go easy on your sober self. Let it go!
Are we ready for some bacon tasting, music blasting, all out support for the newcomers to stay sober this weekend? Hell yeah!

Weasel, I won't post falling ice sign photos bit ive taken the train into work and on my walks from the station I've heard sharp loud cracks as ice hits the streets and sidewalks. We got more snow yesterday. Rain on Sunday.
I have a lot of thinking and doing to do this weekend. Maybe I will share later but I'm trying to get into a more upbeat mood. I'm here for the weekend.

Getting over the toxic shock of leaving my former employer
everything looking a bit wintery but nice outside .
Looking about at different jobs in some nice parts of the country, i can always come visit mum once a month and shop online for groceries if she's having issues ..
So looking at houses and jobs … another sober day / week / month on sober beach where the living is easier than being tossed around on the sea of alcohol , come on in back to shore your time is up

Happy weekend folks! Glad to see this thread in action once again. Newbies and old-bies, jump on and let it go!
Sharing some pix of my last weekend at Lake Atitlan up here in the mountains. It was a bear of a drive (not far as the crow flies from my house, but lots of back-roads, etc)...but well worth the trip. Once we got there, travel was all by boat. Several cities on the lake, we chose the city in Picture 2 and got a little hotel on the cliff. Some really dramatic views, great for contemplating how far I've come since getting sober! Thanks for letting me share the inspiration:

Hi All -- I'm in!! Whooohooo!! Still having a tough time. Need to stay close this weekend. Looking forward to just catching up on cleanup in my apartment, working out, and otherwise just relaxing. I went out of town with family for a long weekend and have unpacking and lots of laundry to get through.

It was good. Went skiing...and I don't really ski. But I faced my fear and took a lesson and I'm SO glad I did it. It was also nice just relaxing in the hot tub and catching up with my siblings.
On a not so positive note - I didn't accomplish staying sober all weekend. So I'm not happy about that. Instead of using the weekend as a derailment though, I'm just moving forward. That's how it seems to be with me...a few steps forward, and then a few steps back.

Greetings one and all. Glad to hop aboard the sober bus once again. This will be my fifth weekend bus trip in a row!!
