Let it go! Sober Weekender Thread Feb 6-8
Glad I got the answer correct, Ruby! If it's a car dealership, it's on Western. Lots of classic old-style used car dealerships in that area. I'm guessing you were driving near my stomping grounds, close to Western & Division where I spent the past 7 years. I also used to live down on Western & Grand, I believe there's a Metra stop there and lots of signs in Spanish as well.
LB - there are 22 volcanoes in Guatemala. That's a lot for a country the size of Minnesota. That said, only a few of them are active, including Fuego which I can see smoking away daily from town here. Most of them haven't erupted since the Holocene period, which I'm guessing was a really, really long time ago. Makes for cool scenery though, and lots of cool rock formations, waterfalls, and lakes to enjoy.
This weekend is going to be my first weekend "home" for a while. Looking forward to it. No trips to the beach, no trips to the lake, just me and my terrace. Going to buy some new plants and a plant stand and clean the house. I am also going to take a practice drive to the Guatemala City airport. I've driven to GC a few times but never to the airport directly...I'll be picking up my mom there in a month and this might be my only chance for a test run before she arrives. It's about an hour away, I'll probably stop in the city and grab some groceries and other odds and ends while I'm down there on Sunday morning.
One more day of work....we're almost there folks!

Good to see everyone! I am working from home tomorrow. Not feeling like being around the crowd at work. They "upgraded" our workspaces and we have a more communal approach to the seating arrangement. Not for the faint introvert. So I rather not force to smile tomorrow. My cats don't care if I make idol chatter or not.
I plan on getting in a lot of working out. I want to feel it and be tired at night because I pooped myself out.

Lizella, that's great that you met someone to go to coffee with. Its so important. My friend from AA is chickening out on meeting me tonight because its too cold.
BigS, all of western avenue is apparently car dealers. That particular one is just south of 55th street/Garfield Blvd by Gage Park.
On way home. Its so nice the daylight is lasting longer. Its noticeable. Stopping at store. Bread and ice cream. The staffs of life.

Sober Enders!!!
I am in for the weekend. Not planning much, something in the crock, maybe some cookies. I have a painting I want to start and maybe I should narrow down what to purchase from the seed catalog.
Here's what I am thinking so far....celery, kale....things I use in my ninja bullet every day. I also put pineapple and jalapenos in, but I don't think those will grow very well here. I would also like to grow some lovage this year, even though I have never cooked with it. Someone in a nearby plot had some and it smelled amazing.

Gilmer, we are with you in spirit via electronics.
Della, congratulations on 30 days! That's fantastic.
2WT, we will be wearing galoshes this weekend since its supposed to rain but it does beat the never ending shoveling this week. I feel your pain.
Daughter in bed and softly snoring. She wanted mommy to sit with her while she's falls asleep so I'm using the time to catch up here. Son is next.
