First AA meeting booked 18 weeks sober >>

Well its official I have singed up for my fist AA meeting. A few of my new pals here on (SR) have hinted that it may be the next step for me and I now agree.

I called the AA hotline and spoke to a mad and within two minutes he spoke about his experiences and to be honest my issues seemed minuscule compared to his in the past.

I have made improvements over the past 18 weeks but I want to learn how to lead a sober life by choice not by effort and wave goodbye to the old me and start afresh.

I was scared at first to go but in reality I get scared going to meetings or attending parties where I don’t know people but the people I meet will all have the same in common with me and that is what I need to meet people that understand the mad feelings we get and learn how to deal and adjust in to a sober life forever.

I will keep you all posted take care everyone

I love your statement about living sober by choice and not by effort. There will always be some work involved in living sober but it doesn't have to be painful. I think AA is a great choice. Good luck to you.

Cool beans!!
The most important meeting you attend is the next one.
It's a great solution and a great way of life!
