Me

I am new here, obviously. I'm 37 years old and a 20 year meth addict. I am almost 140 days completely clean and sober today, and thats the longest stretch I have in my adult life, outside of jail or prison. I'm tired. I'm tired of running from things I can't see, tired of turning away from LIFE, tired of the revolving door that prison seems to be, both the prison of addiction, and the prison that seems to come as a result of getting arrested because of addiction.

I wanna be a grown up. I wanna be a daddy. I wanna have a life, a job, a home. I wanna be a son and a big brother. I wanna have feelings. I wanna be trustworthy, loved, respected, and accepted.

I am gonna make it.

I believe in you. Go for it!

OC, giving up meth after so long is huge. Well done, and I'm sure all the grown-up things you really want will be in reach now.

I am alcoholic but relate to how addiction put my life on hold. I lost my career, finances, condo, car, and the girl before I turned 30. As my friends and peers all settled down, marriage, kids etc, I descended further into alcoholism.

I am 38 now, sober for a year, and putting the pieces back together. Let's do this

Hi and welcome. You can do it. Be vigilant. Keep coming here. Its a great community. I understand. Being tired. More than just not sleeping. Mental exhaustion. Exhaustion of the spirit. This is a better life, sober.

Hi! I have a brother and a sister who are both clean after 20+ years of meth. They are rebuilding their lives. They both say the most important thing they did was cut all ties with old user/friends.

you can do this! welcome to SR!

Love from Lenina
