6 months today!!
Hey SoberRecovery Family!!
Exactly 6 months ago today I quit drinking. Its been an amazing journey into strength, spirituality and hope for the future! I have been increasing my workout now to now 4 miles and 60 pushups, 50 curls and a bunch of situps and planks every half mile, so 4 sets in all, every other day. It had been amazing.. I went from a drunk, lazy mess into a role model for others. So many in my life put me into this box that I was a loser and so when I quit I kept to myself and over the months i've noticed people looking very confused! LOL
The workouts for me are more of a symbol in my life than anything else. A symbol of focus and source of accomplishment and strength that I can do anything I commit too. I have now become to realize who I am and understand that I am a good catch but have no desperation at all to fill-in any emptyness in my life. I definitely do not want to date to even get close to too many people because I am growing to much for growth-anchors or people trying to box-me-in to some type of surface understanding... I am limitless and so are YOU. When the time comes I will begin to share my life with others but this evolving relationship I am developing with myself is the Healthiest and Best relationship I have ever been in.
Stay true to yourself people. Follow what you know is right by yourself and others. Support yourself and your passions after you quit drinking. If you quit and do nothing then it probably wont work.. not to mention the depression of the past. Forgive the past and create any future you want with 100% commitment!
The key is in your hand. Turn it, and walk into a realm of your own choosing. I was always afraid of change and living without the crutch of booze but that crutch was a cancer.

Congrats on 6months!! Amazing and inspiring post as well.
I am sorta doing the same thing with not only committing to sobriety but to physical fitness and diet, and a couple months in I am already starting to notice results from the exercise and diet, not to mention the sobriety!
