The Light at the End
I am 32 days sober and I am seeing definite progress. I can't say that I feel like a million bucks, but I do feel like a couple of hundred. Last week I felt emotionally and physically bankrupt.
I am exercising a lot, and I have drastically improved my diet. I honestly believe that these things speed up the recovery process.
My eyes are clear, I'm feeling light on my feet, I am thinking much more clearly, and there is more money in my bank account than has been in a long time.
I even had a nice conversation with a lady at the gym last night, and she says she is looking forward to seeing me there this evening. She has a healthy lifestyle and says that she almost never drinks, and when she does it is only a glass of wine. I plan to take this *very* slowly. It's just pleasant to have a normal conversation with a pretty lady.
Nothing but improvement. And I am positive that it will get better and better.
So for those in the earliest days, when nights are an eternity, and you are scared and disoriented, it gets much better.
I know I still have a long road ahead of me, but things have never looked brighter.

I agree with you completely. I think recovery is about balance, and for me, that's something I strive for every day. I'm glad you're starting to feel good.
