I Drink Too Much
Genuinely I feel I constantly need to have something in my mouth (cue rude jokes lol). If it's not a drink (particularly coffee ATM, it's food, if it's not food it's a cigarette. I think we must be so used to putting a glass to our mouths it's a case of having to replace it with something. Not even hungry or thirsty half the time it's just habit. Hence diet starting next week (must have caused a shortage of ice cream in the uk over last 3 weeks). X
According to Freud, it's all about oral gratification. The need for the mother's breast in infancy leads to the need to always have something in the mouth, be it drink, food or cigarettes.
Guess that would be a stronger need if the childhood was insecure.
