When anti-virus is not your friend!
When anti-virus is not your friend!
I've been absent for a couple of days and not posted on the 24 hour check in which is part of my plan. The reason has not been booze, but the anti-virus software on my computer which decided for some reason that the forum was a threat and just kept disconnecting me from the site every time I logged in. (I use Avast - anyone else had the same problem?). I can incidentally connect to the main Soberrecovery site but not the forums.
Anyway I missed the forum horribly and I have to say it has made the last couple of days tougher than they might otherwise have been! Just goes to show!
I have actually turned off Avast for ten minutes to make this post. I just discovered I can do that, though it is probably unwise. I think I will look for a replacement!
Anyway all the best to everyone. I'm still here!

AV software is nearly obsolete. I don't even use it anymore. I do use WindowsDefender but mostly I run behind a firewall. I suggest you download the free 'MalwareBytes' software, keep it up to date and run it periodically. Sorry, to sidetrack- I'm just a bit of a geek, a couple credits short of a degree in Information Security.
Good to see you around, Mentium!

I have malwarebytes thanks. Personally I would not risk not having an AV system.
Anyway - to get back on topic, I am so glad to be able to post again. Being unable to for a couple of days made me realise what an incredible resource this forum is for people in recovery.
