Weasel, I totally get the hunker down and let's have a drink mentality. Not this time. Also not sure how much time I'll be able to be here once my family gets home, but it's going to be a sober night.

Snow ain't got nothin' on me!
Just finished a war with the weights in my home gym after sitting out last week with a minor injury,
Now I'm about to go roll around in the snow to cool off.
Bring it!!!

Wish I had off and could go to the gym MNS.
I love the songs from snow patrol!
I used to spend all of a storm in at a waterfront bar in town. It was crowded... homeless... fisherman... drunks... and we played the jukebox over the big sound system, played pool and all got along so well.
But that was a different me. I think of it and feel the pull when these events come up but quite honestly I am happy sober here. I have the fireplace going... cats following me around. Sausage ravioli on the stove.
Thanks for joining me!!!

Something(or the asterisk version)
No
One
Wants!
Being from Chicago I don't miss the named winter storms! Blizzard of 68 the winter of '72 the freeze of 76 etc.....
Now in the Deep South we only have to dodge hurricanes regularly! So much more peaceful?!?
Stay cozy ya'll!!
You don't have to drink over it

I thought the snow thread would be a good idea. I always wanted to hunker down with a glass of wine and watch mindless television. I'm with you guys in spirit. Once it's done it's an adventure. I lived in Minnesota for a couple of 36" inch storms and it became fun. You can't change it so you can either have fun with it or be miserable. Fun is better.
I am watching mindless television but need to take son to doctor for six o'clock appointment. Dragging daughter along for the ride. We are getting a dusting of snow. Nothing major like the east. Traffic will still be yucky but I heard the trains to Long Island are shutting down at midnight. I will see you all later!

An upcoming blizzard like I'm expecting here in NYC would have had me stocking up big time. I would have used my snow day spiking my morning coffee and drinking wine all afternoon. I admit I was a bit reminiscent on my way home from work, but quickly made it home. Now cozy on my couch with some nice, warm tea.
The storm here in Maine does not start for an hour or so.
What makes it for me is the length of time. A blizzard watch from 10PM tonight until 2 AM Wednesday. Thats a long time for a blizzard.
But I have everything I need. The car is tucked away in a good spot. That cats got special treat for dinner. They are on a special diet and so when I give them something new it makes them buzz around the house!
Only thing bothering me is no access to the gym. Wish I could walk a few miles.

So far here in Manhattan the city is managing it well. Everything is cancelled tomorrow and even the buses and subways are shutting down at 11. I went to Starbucks a little while ago; watched people rushing around making their final "hunker down" purchases. At least one out of three people in my neighborhood were buying some type of alcohol. There were also several sled purchases, and I saw a couple of people carrying skis.
