Today marks one year of sobriety for me. I would like to thank all of you for your insight and help over this past year. I still have issues with guilt and shame for past mistakes - but I am not picking up over these issues. I realize now what kind of a person I was. I hope my future actions being sober will define me and not my past. Thanks again SR!

Regret past events, but take no shame with you. It is now, the present. The past is merely a conjured image our minds tend to store. Use those images as reference points that you avoid today. You are not that same person. No need to carry baggage with old clothes that no longer fit.
Congratulations on a year of sobriety. Wear that new shirt proudly.
