Alcoholic Quotes

An person becomes an Alcoholic, when the only person who believes their lies are themselves. Lancashire 2015

Alcohol kills 2.5 Million People per year. Thats more than the combined deaths of Malaria, HIV and Ebola Worldwide per year.

Whats the point ? No one is looking for a cure for Alcoholism.

Alcoholism isn't a spectator sport. Eventually the whole family gets to play.

A slightly different take on the first one. The only person who doesn't know they have a problem with alcohol is the alcoholic

“The inverse association between religion and addiction is one of the most unsung findings in the entire literature on drug and alcohol abuse.”

"The difference between alcoholics and normies is that normies confuse tapering with drinking."

"We live in strange times where if you don't drink, then people think you're an alcoholic."

That's not true. I've seen a lot of work going on in this area. There is a lot of funding going towards understanding alcoholism as well as looking for new treatments for alcoholism. Heck, it even has its own institute at the NIH (NIAAA), same with drug abuse (NIDA). National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)

2.5 million people die from Alcoholic Related Illness or Liver/Renal Failure. If this was a virus, it would be all over the news and there would be an outrage. As it is a bunch of old/young drunks that "bring it on themselves". There is no appetite to spend public money in tackling this problem.

Its a harsh reality, but many people out there believe we reap what we sow, so why should public money or private investment go into making us well again.

Only if it was a new disease that the media hyped as a threat to rich countries.

Malaria kills over 1 million per year and 500-600 million people suffer from its effects annually. Still not much research.

The best recovery program ever conceived is free and available to anyone who has the willingness to work it.
