Good Evening
Good Evening ladies and gentlemen. I am writing to you today in hopes of some support. I'm Greg and I'm 28. Despite having it all (great girl, dental school finally on the horizon, friends and family) I threw it all away. I've tried many methods to stop my self-destructive behavior and am currently two days into it again. Apparently my employers and family are ok with me. I just don't want to blow it and am trying everything not to do so (therapy, new girlfriend, socializing, etc.). I have never reached out like this, as I hate asking for anything, but I have finally reached the point of struggling to get by the day. Any comments, criticisms, and whatnot is appreciated.

I could criticze you, but it would be hypocritical since I am also 28 and am guilty of self-destructive behavior. But thanks in large part to this awesome place, I am now on the right path.

Greg- welcome! Sure glad you're here. Sounds like you have some great things in your life. That's awesome. I'm new in my recovery but I could really relate to your hating to ask for anything. For me, I decided I'd do whatever was needed in order to succeed and be sober for good even if it means being open to help. Best decision ever!!

Welcome. You're in the right place here. Hang in there. It does get easier after a while. At first it is so hard, but there are so many great people here to support you. Please post if you're feeling you need support.

Nice to meet you! I am seven days in, and log on here any time I have urges or am struggling! I really hope you stick it out. Dental School! Wow! Please don't throw that away! Happy you are here with me!
