Hello Everyone

Many tries, back at day 1 here. So scaried, alone and just plain feel ill.

I'm a bad binge drinker and like most waste all my money and make stupid choices when drinking. I'm at the end...scared I don't want to even be here if this is me. I don't feel its me, but man I'm a mess and sick of looking at it in the mirror. Please help!

Welcome to SR MTB

This could be your last day 1. Make a plan, and stick to it no matter what.

Hi MTB81 been there myself many times before and know the feeling, I'm at 19 days and know the feeling. I would suggest that you see a doctor as withdrawal in the early stages can be very dangerous and you might need some meds to get you over the first week, its not easy I know but believe you need to make a plan to get you through the first week. You will get plenty of advice and support here, hang in there, we are with you. Good Luck and get some help. take care.

Welcome! I, too, was a binge drinker. It is scary to let go, but amazing what can happen. Sending you supportive and positive thoughts.

Luckily, I'm prescribed xanax. So, that will help. I'm a binge drinker never experienced dangerous withdrawals. Yet, I do feelnlike death...more so justfhate myself for doing this to me. I can't drive. So, really just gonna be sitting here letting the thoughts consume me.

When you guys say a plan, can you explain more?

Don't think we are allowed give medical advice on SR but a plan for a start would be try and get a good nights sleep (if possible) take the Xanax as prescribed by doc as its a benzo and you need taper off them. Get plenty of liquids like soup, water, flat sprite/7up into you, eat healthy food and get some mild exercise to start with, that's what I did and hope and pray I never have to go through again, good luck and keep update how you getting on, it will pass day by day, relax also watch a good movie and chill. take care.

MTB, know this: You never have to feel this way again.

Make this your last day 1. You can if you really want to.

Good luck. And welcome. I am glad you are here with us.

Yes, AA can be part of a plan. So can reading, posting and replying on SR. Other methods such as RR, AVRT, Celebrate Recovery, Smart Recovery. Avoiding triggers such as bars, pubs, drinking buddies, toxic family members. Counseling.

Thank you so much, I've been looking into AVRT

Not you

That binge drinker is not you MTB. You're smart enough to see it, want better for yourself and you're further smart to reach out. You'll get back to you.
