What a wonderful day to be alive.
The weather has broken here and despite continued arguments within my family i am deciding to stay out of it as much as i can. I am 1000 miles away from my family so cannot afford to allow that to get in the way of my recovery. It's day 15 for me (seems a lot longer) but i'm feeling great. The last of the fuzzyness is starting to lift and i feel more human than i have for a long time.
I made myself a lovely creamy avocado pasta for lunch. I'm trying to eat 2 avocados a week at the moment because, despite being scarily calorific, they are also great at aiding liver repair and i think i need as much help as i can get haha!

Hello messyliver......
The above quote you made in your
share is what stood out the most for me.
I'm not sure how many miles I have
between my family and I, but feel like
im a good long distant in comfort away
from the source that kept me hostage
in my own illness/addiction.
Sometimes it sounds or feels selfish
to me in protecting myself from people,
places or things that contributed to my
addiction. And it is selfish thinking, but
when it comes to my recovery and
sobriety, I will do whatever I need to
do in my life using a program of recovery
as a guideline in helping me remain
healthy, happy, honest as definitely
sober today.
Keep up the good work in recovery
because you are worth it.

Avocados are just awesome! I could easily eat it everyday but i am trying to be careful with my calorie intake haha. Guacamole is one of my favourite things ever. (particularly on top of cheesy quesadillas eek.)
One of the main problems this weekend between my family was fuelled by alcohol. It felt good to realise that i was the sober person who could look at the situation and analyse ir properly. I would usually be right in the middle of it, throwing my wine fuelled opinions out at random. I feel like i've been sober forever. Can't believe it's only 15 days lol x

congrats on 15 days.
um - care to share that avocado pasta recipe?
I eat 2 or 3 a week. While high in calories, they are excellent for you and provide healthy fats. I usually just add half to a salad or on toast as someone else mentioned.
I read a recipe yesterday where you can bake an egg in the middle with some seasoning...I may just try that this weekend for breaky!
