Guess I'm finally hear.
When you finally go to bed tonight, remember you are not alone in this. When you wake up remember us. Not what we said, but that we are here, ok?

You don't have to do it on your own. I tried to white knuckle it for two weeks on my own _ I gave in and drank each night. The day I went to AA with a hangover just over two weeks ago gave me the strength to get through the night. Yes I stared at the clock, didn't sleep, watched bad tv, and craved hard. I called my doctor's office as soon as it opened and got an emergency apt. I saw my doc who I've been lying to for years and told him the truth. I met a bunch of women at AA and called some of them on the hour every hour. I was honest with a couple of people in my life. Now I feel I have a safety net of people who help me as I look after me. I couldn't do it alone. Each day has gotten better and better. You can have this too. We all can and we all deserve this. Just be gentle with yourself right now. Being drunk and angry with yourself is a terrible cycle that repeats and repeats. Give yourself the grace to get through being drunk right now, and you will slowly sober up. Continue to be kind to yourself as you sober up. Then like I said, make at least one plan to reach out to get some help once you feel more sober.
On your own? no sir, you are not alone. you are not the first nor the last to seek help. We all did, and for most of us it was ugly to begin with. Keep coming back, you can get where you want to be.

I'm really glad you came back. It would not be unusual for the sunlight to dissolve the resolve.
Know it will be difficult and the temptations will be many and strong. Remember why you want to do this.
When tempted try to play it all the way through to where it leads and it should not be hard to remember that.
Stay with us.
